1 The Government of Chile confirms and proclaims its sovereignty over the entire continental shelf adjacent to the mainland coasts and islands of the country, regardless of the depth that is , claiming, therefore, all the natural resources that exist on that socket, it and under it known or discovered.
2 The Government of Chile confirms and proclaims sovereignty over the seas adjacent to its coast, irrespective of depth throughout the extent necessary to preserve, protect, conserve and exploit the natural wealth and resources any kind on these seas and under them and they are being subjected to government surveillance, especially the hunting and fishing operations at sea, in order to prevent the riches of this order are exploited to the detriment of the inhabitants Chile and depleted or destroyed to the detriment of the country and the Americas.
3 The delineation of protection areas hunting and sea fishing in inland seas and islands that fall under the control of the Government of Chile will be made, by virtue of sovereignty, whenever the government sees fit, either confirming, expanding or otherwise modifying such districts, according to Chile's interests that are warned in the future, once declared that protection and control over all the sea included within the perimeter formed by the coast with a mathematical parallel projected into the sea two hundred nautical miles off the coast of continental Chile.
This demarcation is measured on the Chilean island, indicating a sea zone adjacent to the coasts of the same, projected parallel to these two hundred nautical miles around the edge.
4 The present declaration does not deny legitimate sovereignty of other States similar rights on the basis of reciprocity, or affect the rights of free navigation on the high seas.
