Air Force Contract Signature Peru Russian Federation Enhance Repair and MIG-29 Fighter
The Air Force of Peru (FAP) and the Russian Federation today signed a contract for the repair of 19 MIG-29 aircraft, under the so-called "Core of National Defence , a project through which it seeks to recover the operational capacity of the Armed Forces.
The Defense Minister Antero Flores-Araoz, today witnessed the signing of the contract, held at the Air Base No. 6 of Chiclayo, where they remain stationed install these fighter jets.

Reportedly, much of the repair and maintenance work will take place in the city of Chiclayo, allowing technology transfer and bring great economic impact to the region.
MIG-29 planes were acquired by the Peruvian government during the decade of 1990 to strengthen its airpower and confronting any threat to national security.
